Classification of Organisms!

Today in science, we reviewed classifcations of organisms! After we created a foldable for our science journals, we gallery walked around the room and classified different organisms. Our 8th graders did great with this activity and were able to easily classify seven different organisms. Here is how we classified a shark and a labradoodle!

Coming up in week three of this school year, we are describing feeding relationships within food webs. Our specific standard that we will explore is 8.11A: Describe produce/consumer, predator/prey, and parasite/host relationships as they occur in food webs within marine, freshwater, and terrestrial ecosystems.

By the end of the week, students will create their own food web in an ecosystem and describe the specific feeding relationships. Our assessment for this TEKS will be Monday, September 14th.

Here's to another exciting week in Science with Stewart!
