Cup Stacking Challenge!
I had the best seat in town today! All day I got to watch 8th graders work together to stack solo cups using string and rubberbands with the rule being that they could only touch the string. There were some creative strategies used and I would go out on a limb to say that the students had a lot of fun too! We took this time to reflect on how well we worked in groups and recorded what we could do next time to improve, not only the strategies to stack the cups but our communication as well.
Check us out in action!!

Coming up in Week 2 we have our Safety Test on Monday, Explosion Lab (yes...I will be setting things on fire), and reviewing some keys concepts from 6th and 7th grade including: differentiating between animal and plant cells, identifying basic characteristics of organisms, identifying main body systems, and we're going to throw in some genetics as well! A lot to look forward to this week!
